I recently achieved my Microsoft AI-900 certification and I will jot down some helpful points ( guide ) so that you can also get Microsoft certified in this awesome fundamental level AI certification.
Ok, let’s begin!
I am assuming that you want to switch/shift your career in the field of AI/data science and this is the first stepping stone for your dream AI/DS job.
- First of all, you have to be familiar with Artificial Intelligence concepts/terminologies, so for that, I read these freely available courses :
a) → AI for everyone, a very popular course by Andrew NG ( Standford Faculty/founder of Coursera)
b) → The course designed by the University of Helsinki Open University (Finland) which is freely available for everyone.
2. Now, I have gone through everything in the MS learn free self-paced learning path designed for passing this exam.
Note : Please dont forget to read about the Responsible AI principles because 5–7 questions were from that part only. Also Do the hands-on-labs which will make you gain more real-world-type experience.
3. After this, I searched for some practice tests for this exam on Whizlabs.
I must confess, I searched for the practice questions on other less-trustable websites as well, but it’s not a very good idea if you are a noob/beginner in this field because these websites claim to provide you the exam-dumps seldom has the right answer/solution under their problems. This will create confusion in your head and there is a big chance that you will mark the wrong answer when you actually take the exam.
Moreover, you are cheapening the process of earning certification. You aren’t learning to understand, you’re just trying to pass an exam (in the worst way possible).
I realized it early because I read a bunch of stuff about this in some Quora post and I quickly eradicated the urge of this “cheating” and relying on exam-dumps.
The best way to practice would be one (or more) of the following :
a. Take the free practice test on whizlabs
b. Buying the paid practice test as well. ( I didn’t do it though)
c. Maybe if you have a corporate udemy account, you can buy a practice test on udemy ( free if your company is paying for this, otherwise is a very reasonable price to pay by yourself ).
Example : https://www.udemy.com/course/microsoft-certified-azure-ai- fundamentals-5-practice-tests/
d. Buying the official Microsoft Practice test ( i didn’t buy it though )
4. Trying to win the free exam voucher by taking part in the Microsoft challenges ( i completed the Ignite Cloud Skills Challenge 2020, from which I won a free exam voucher ).
Microsoft arranges these types of challenges very frequently (especially in this COVID-19 times).
Otherwise, you can buy the exam for 99 USD ( 15 USD if your job was affected due to COVID-19)
That’s it ! now off you go, schedule your exam and take it from your own home desk and pass with shining colours .
Remember, you have to score at least 700 out of 1000. (Go through the skills outline too )
There is no negative marking or subjective answers to be written.
Every question is either of the below types:
- Objective Type ( one option is correct or multiple options are correct )
- Matching Type ( example: match one topic with its definition)
Hmm.. also, I don’t think they ask anything outside what they are teaching in their free learning path.
ALL THE BEST!
