Can machines overcome humans, well maybe? conspiracy theories are many, most however are untrue. We would look at the current status and impact of AI in this modern age.
The human brain is an extraordinary organ. The eye sees images with the help of the brain but the computer has got no eyes. The computer’s eyes are at most the camera with which it can “see” images. The human ears can hear sounds but the computer can only afford a microphone.
The human body channels information processing to the brain, the computer channels processing of information to the central processing unit. The brain of a computer is at most the central processing unit.
From the adventures of computers comes a new cool kid on the block. Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is a bigger concept, it is to create intelligent machines that can simulate human thinking capability and behavior.
Sorry, I must say AI can never be better than humans in some aspects but we simply need AI.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)can also be considered as when a computer performs a task without direct human intervention. E.g identify an image, understand a speech, recognize words in a document, find hidden features that goes beyond human capability.
There are two main study areas in Artificial Intelligence, supervised learning (structured data) for classification and regression and
unsupervised learning e.g clustering.
There are also two main data types normally used. categorical data includes; nominal, ordinal and binary data. The other data type is numeric.
Many Companies use Artificial Intelligence in their products. Either to enhance their services or provide completely new service from scratch.
Companies are springing up with just the purpose of offering AI solutions for companies and individuals.
These are some companies and the way they are using Artificial Intelligence.
