Check it out now. 🐎
Data science and AI are red-hot skills. There are around 100,000 open “machine learning” jobs on LinkedIn, and the average data scientist in the US earns a six-figure salary.
That said, these are highly-competitive jobs, and many machine learning courses — such as Andrew Ng’s famous Machine Learning Coursera course — have several million students.
While you don’t need these technical courses to use AI, given no-code AI tools like Obviously.AI, they’ll help if you want to land a technical role.
If you want to stand out from the masses vying for a technical role, you need to dive deeper. Develop, a skills training platform, is offering a month of free access to data science and AI courses. Here are some words from Develop’s CEO:
“Develop’s high-quality, expert-led online courses are the best way for these professionals to gain the skills they need to stand out. We are proud to be able to offer a full month for anyone who is working to improve their skills and experience.”
With a free month of learning, you’re saving quite a bit, as Develop would charge up to $39.99/month for their subscriptions. There are now three main offerings: “The Foundation” subscription, the “Data Academy” subscription, and the “Cybersecurity Academy” subscription.
The “Data Academy” is split into its own four categories (not counting the “Getting Started” unit):
- Deep Learning
- Data Science
- Machine Learning
- Artificial Intelligence
There are over 100 courses spread across these units. Clicking on any course will take you to an overview, from where you can start the course in one-click. You’ll be asked to enter payment details — but you’ll have a free 30-day trial, so you won’t be charged if you cancel before then.
Courses are made up of mixed-learning components to appeal to a diverse range of learners. You’ll learn through readings, videos, and knowledge checks, or practical exercises.
The classes also have discussion forums to learn and network with peers, as well as a section for you to take private notes.
Upon course completion, you can click a “View Certificate” link to get a full-color, printable certificate that you can add to your LinkedIn profile to document your learning journey.
Data science and AI are the future. You may not realize it, but virtually everything you do is impacted by AI, whether it’s the songs you listen to on Spotify, the products you order on Amazon, or the information you consume through Google and YouTube.
Continuous learning will help you stay ontop of our ever-changing world, and keep your skills sharp for a competitive job market.
