’Tis but a short one tonight, dear reader, as my bathtub only got a quarter of the way full with hot water before it ran out. Because I live with other people that apparently also enjoy not smelling bad. And find hot water relaxing. I wish I had my own tank, I’m totally going to start a campaign for that.
Speaking of campaign, it’s November 3, 2020. The night of the big presidential election so you KNOW I wasn’t about to face the night sober. I’m not looking for any results until tomorrow, because just like in elections past, I have had ENOUGH of the damn campaigning and I just want us to move the hell on with life. Maybe focus on more productive things like eco-friendly living solutions, the ethics of studying life on another planet if we were ever to find it, or how the hell to fold a fitted sheet.
Seriously. Fitted sheets are rigged and placed here by a malevolent trickster leprechaun. Ok I think the ‘ol lights are kicking in now.
My phone wasn’t working well today, I ended up having to reset it and now things are all wonky. By wonky I mean they are updated to the latest version that I don’t really understand all that well so I have to insult it to feel better. I am noticing a trend though: information is being categorized on bigger levels, and we are building upon the tech from years past. Yeah I know, DUH, you’re thinking, but hear me out, I have a new theory, are we ready? Well it’s not really a new theory it’s the same old one artificial intelligence is becoming self aware and……..helping us.
The human brain can only handle so much input and processing, but we are collecting more information now than we ever have before at an astounding rate as new content is added every single second. Perhaps we need AI to help us sort our lives into more meaningful and manageable chunks.
How can I be expected to start a compost pile and a garden when I can’t even keep track of all my kid’s damn “homework?” And who the hell is still calling it homework, they are online at home it’s just WORK for them now, we have the youngest generation of child labor ever and they are writing essays about what they are learning and I’m sure it’s all being stored by the internet megalomaniac super-duper-Olga-mega big server in the sky!
Maybe humans ARE the computer server? We store and pass down information and we have found a way to do that even without having to replicate ourselves so much that we overrun the planet. Need to know how to sleep better AND keep a log of your daily activity? There’s an app for that. Somewhere. Why don’t I have an app yet?
Well, I don’t know. But I’m cold and feeling a bit peckish, so I’m out for now.
Shalom!
