There have been countless times where AI has produced unintended consequences across all aspects of society. Misstep after misstep happens and oftentimes, it’s rooted in a lack of understanding and usage of fundamental ethical principles and guidelines in developing these systems. To solve this, stakeholders, from product managers to the general public, need to be aware of responsible AI issues when creating these systems, from inception to governance. There is a knowledge gap that needs to be filled — the problem is, most don’t know where to start.
That’s why AI Global, a “do tank” that creates tools to support those navigating the complex landscape of AI, has developed a central hub for responsible AI resources! With over 170 resources, the Responsible AI Community Portal Beta holds a curated list of research, government policies, open datasets, and toolkits to help inform and support responsible development in AI. The singular searchable platform allows users to search and filter for relevant resources.
We saw a need to simplify the search process and empower people from a range of backgrounds to explore responsible AI development. With the Community Portal, users can directly access resources that have been carefully selected by our expert team here at AI Global. This list will evolve over time as our team adds resources, but in the spirit of open collaboration, we hope to leverage the budding responsible AI community. With our suggest-a-resource feature, users can submit resources they have either created or believe were helpful from their experiences. They can simply fill out a form and once our administrators approve it, others can view it right on the platform.
It’s together that we can make a difference and bring the focus to responsible development in artificial intelligence. This is a first step towards a future of collaborative work in Responsible AI and we’re excited to see where this goes!
