SAN DIEGO – A flood warning was in effect for parts of San Diego County until 2 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service announced Monday.
Areas under flood warning include communities from Oceanside, Escondido and Solana Beach to El Cajon and Chula Vista, according to the NWS. Moderate to heavy rains are occurring in this area, which can cause flooding in low-lying areas and poor drainage.
“Floods are hard to see at night, so please, Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Stay safe everyone,” NWS San Diego said in a tweet.
A strong storm system is expected to bring widespread rain, strong winds and a possible thunderstorm through Tuesday.
