SAN DIEGO – The missing 20-year-old Indiana woman, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances in San Diego last month, has been safely found, police said Saturday.
San Diego police said investigators met with Lateche Norris in person on Saturday and confirmed that she is safe.
“Detectives have also confirmed that Norris was and is not a victim of a crime,” said Lt. Adam Sharki from the SDPD. “MS. Norris thanked the public for their concern and asked for privacy.”
Before Norris was located, she was last seen with her boyfriend Joseph “Joey” Smith as they entered a 7-Eleven at 222 Park Blvd. near Petco Park around 11:25 p.m. November 4th. The next day, Norris reportedly called her mother from a strange phone after a heated argument with Smith. She was reported missing to the SDPD on November 9th by her mother, Cheryl Walker.
Walker has been searching tirelessly in San Diego since her daughter disappeared. She commented on the news that her daughter was safely located in a GoFundMe account she created to pay the cost of finding Norris.
“I don’t have any further updates at the moment, but I wanted you all to know as soon as possible that we did,” she said. “We all! We need a moment to catch our breath! Thank you !!!!”
