In 2010, the Little Saigon San Diego Foundation hosted the San Diego Lunar New Year event as a four-hour event at the Hoover High School parking lot. In addition to celebrating Lunar New Year, the San Diego event aims to increase cultural awareness in the Vietnamese community as well as support local actors, artists and businesses.

The festival has grown significantly over the past decade and its location around the city, including six years at San Diego County Credit Union Stadium is now closed in Mission Valley. Last year, the game used an integrated approach due to CCIDID-19, which included socializing outside of businesses and visual inspection options.
For 2022, the game returns to normal format and the first City Heights treadmill. Although 2022 has fewer retailers than in previous years, there will still be a lot of traditional Asian traditions on sale – from the Korean BBQ to Boba drinks. Most of the participants are mom and pop stores, including Saigon Sandwiches & amp; Deli, which will be providing Vietnamese street food. Safety precautions
