A man was driving a Kia Soul with a 22-year-old woman in the vehicle around 1 a.m. on Harbor Island when he veered off the road into the water, said Harbor Police Sgt. Troy Nicol.
Both were able to get out of the car through an open window and swim to shore, Nicol said.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse, Nicol said. He was booked into the county jail and held on $50,000 bail, Nicol said.
Divers attached a tow hook to the car and the tow truck pulled the car out of the water.
