This series of articles and tutorials is divided into the following five sections
- Section ONE: EDA Introduction.
- Section TWO: EDA Assumptions.
- Section Three: EDA techniques.
- Section Four: EDA case studies.
- Section Five: EDA Python libraries.
And each section is further subdivided into a number of topics and each topic is covered in a single separate tutorial.
Table of topics of section ONE:
- What is EDA?
- Types of Data Analysis
- EDA Goals
- The Role of Graphics in EDA
- An EDA Example
- General EDA Problem Types (This Article)
Each topic is covered in a separate article/notebook. This article is topic06: General EDA Problems of Section ONE: EDA introduction.
Topic 06: General EDA Problem Types
In the article, we will try to answer what types of questions or problems EDA approach can deal with. More specifically for what types of questions can we find proper answers using EDA approach.
I have written a similar article sometime back though it did not, somehow, become a part of this EDA series. But contents of which are helpful and the link for it is here. Much of its contents complement this article, so go through it before proceeding… I will wait for you.
In this article, I am giving just a simple mathematical statement of the problem along with the expected output and main graphical techniques we can use to approach the analysis. The techniques themselves are discussed in upcoming articles ( specifically Section 03 of the series).
The following are the categories of problems we can tackle with EDA approach:
- Univariate and Control Problems.
- Relationship and Feature Selection Problems.
- Optimization and Regression Problems.
- Time Series Problem
- Unsupervised Problem
For each problem, the details of input data, model, outputs, and EDA techniques are mentioned below.
